He's (ED, Marketing & Distribution) and also a graduate of Chemical Engineering from the University of Ife, now Obafemi Awolowo University. He later went to the Queen Mary college University, London and bagged a diploma in Petroleum planning and economics.
He worked at Department of Petroleum Resources, (DPR), Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC), Ministry of petroleum resources and Shell and he was privileged to attend several trainings and programs in the United States, United Kingdom, Asia and Nigeria. Engr. Ashaolu represented NNPC/NIGERIA at the OPEC Steering Committee from 1977to 1985, looking after the OPEC crude oil pricing models, world refinery, ports, tankers, pipelines and oil reserves. He was made the chairman of his committee in OPEC between 1979/1981 as Iran rejected Arab chairmanship.
He is a fellow of several institutions including the Nigerian institute of public administrators, the Nigerian institute of Chemical engineers and a member of the Energy institute of the UK. He has a very enviable travel list of over 40 countries around Africa, Europe, United Stated, Africa, Middle East/Asia.
